Moving to Another Country Without Speaking the Language
And how I'm desperately trying to get better - even while sucking.
I moved to Sicily without speaking any Italian.
And one of the lessons I’ve learned since moving here is that I am really afraid to suck. I truly live in fear of being bad at something. I have a paralyzing fear of other people knowing that I suck at a thing or seeing me fail.
And with speaking Italian I literally fail all day long and everyone can see me.
